the PLAN
EnergyRevolution.in has a long term plan and we're just starting out. The actual petition text will evolve slowly. The petition will be addressed to Farooq Abdullah, Minister for New and Renewable Energy. We pull push for various reforms in the energy sector, including:
  • The formation of rural communities that install and run (with govt. assistance) renewable energy installations for powering villages.
  • Ensuring that all energy derived from renewable installations is provided to end users at the lowest cost possible.
  • Removing barriers in the development of non-conventional energy systems.
  • Modifying laws to promote renewable energy sources by providing a tax-free, incentive-based model for national and private firms that produce tangible, efficiently-used power that is provided free for citizens
  • Promotion of renewable energy sources in the mainstream. Encourage citizens to make urban and rural homes less dependent on traditional power sources. Push development of small captive non-conventional power plants that can power small communities.
  • Spreading awareness, especially amongst citizens in mass media, about there being an option
  • Establishing India as an R&D hub in green technology by providing incentives for the right companies to set up shop and promoting renewable energy in anyway they can.

There might be an additional petition that we may send to a private energy companies that have a green portfolio or participate/promote renewable energy sources or products.

Additionally, we are also working on putting together a comprehensive project report of reforms and its implementation that can be discussed and modified by the community, before it is presented to the ministry.

You are welcome to contribute in this area by helping us draft the text, raising relevant points, or even by simply guiding us towards relevant resources. us on info [at] energyrevolution [dot] in.
